Everything You Need To Know About the 73rd Annual Cherry Fiesta & Canada Day Celebration in Osoyoos

It is officially time to get excited because the countdown is on to the 73rd Annual Cherry Fiesta and Canada Day celebration in Osoyoos!

Coming up on Saturday, July 1, the Town of Osoyoos, along with visitors from far and wide, will be taking on Canada Day in style with a pancake breakfast, a parade, pie-eating, live music and more!

In order to make the most of your day and not miss any of the action, we’ve got you covered with a full schedule and everything you need to know for a fun-filled celebration.

2023 OSOYOOS CHERRY FIESTA SCHEDULE:

Firefighters dressed in golf attire fire water hoses at the crowd as part of a street water fight at Cherry Fiesta.

The Cherry Fiesta will be a true celebration that creates many opportunities for residents, their families, and visitors to Osoyoos to celebrate Canada’s birthday and the pride of calling this great country “home”. In 2023 — as mentioned above — it will mark the 73rd edition of this annual event.

Important to note:

All lanes along Highway 3 (Main Street) through Osoyoos will be closed from approximately 10:45 am until 12:15 pm, beginning at the intersection of Highway 97 & Highway 3 and spanning to the junction of Highway 3 & Kingfisher Drive. This is to accommodate the Cherry Fiesta and Canada Day parade.

Here is how the day will shape up from a schedule standpoint.

Rotary Pancake Breakfast
8:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Town Hall Square

Start your Canada Day off on the right foot with a little nourishment and partake in a pancake breakfast that will run for approximately two hours in the morning.

Main Street Parade
11:00 AM on Main Street

As mentioned above, traffic will be closed to accommodate Osoyoos’ iconic Canada Day parade so if you plan on attending, it is recommended you walk or ride your bike to the festivities as navigating the roads in a vehicle can be extremely difficult.

The vibrant parade will feature a variety of floats and participants including local businesses, organizations and volunteers.

PRO TIP: We are anticipating a hot day with temperatures rising above 30 degrees Celsius. Come dressed to get wet and join in the annual water fight that takes place outside of Home Hardware in order to get refreshed and cool down! Below are some images of last year’s epic street water fight!

Live Music and Entertainment at Gyro Beach Bandshell

Following the parade, Gyro Beach will have live music, dance performances, and opening ceremonies with food trucks, craft vendors, and a beer Garden.
