Halloween is just around the corner, and if you’re in Osoyoos, you’re in for a spook-tacular treat! Osoyoos may be best known for beautiful landscapes and the warmest climate in Canada, but we also know how to celebrate Halloween in style. From family-friendly activities to hair-raising adventures, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Here are some fun Halloween events happening in Osoyoos and the South Okanagan.
PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST AT GINO’S COFFEE HOUSE
What: Unleash your creativity and carve out the best pumpkin design to win exciting prizes!
When: October 18 | 2PM – 4PM
Where: Gino’s Coffee House
Cost: $30 Contest Entry | Entry includes drink, pumpkin and carving tools
HALLOWEEN HOWLER DANCE AT SONORA COMMUNITY CENTRE
What: Enjoy a family friendly dance with costume and dance prizes. This festive dance will have a DJ, strobe lights and fog machines.
When: October 24 | 5:30-7PM KINDERGARTEN-GRADE 3 7-8:30PM GRADES 4-7
Where: Sonora Community Centre
Cost: $2 Admission or food donation per person
4TH ANNUAL ALL HALLOW’S FESTIVAL AT GYRO BEACH
What: Celebrate the season of the witch for TWO DAYS at Gyro Park in Osoyoos. This one-of-a-kind festival will have events and happenings for all ages and interests, including:
- Dance performances and workshops
- Live music, including performances
- Aerial acrobatics shows and more!
- A Vendor Market (Sunday ONLY, 11am-4pm)
- A fully licensed festival grounds
- Food trucks
- And more!
When: October 25 & 26 | 4PM-8PM & 11AM-6PM
Where: Gyro Beach Park
Cost: Entry by Donation to Wide Arts National Association
PUMPKIN CARVING & WINE AT LAKESIDE CELLARS
What: Get into the festive spirit with wine in hand to design a prize winning pumpkin!
When: October 26 | 2PM – 5PM
Where: Lakeside Cellars
Cost: $7-$15 | Adult: One pumpkin & 6oz glass of wine Kids: One pumpkin & juice box
TRICK OR TREAT MAIN STREET
What: It’s that time of year again!! Trick or Treat Main Street is BACK! Costume-clad trick or treaters are invited to visit businesses all along Main Street in Osoyoos from 2:30-5pm for candy and other prizes. Look out for the poster in the window of participating businesses! The Osoyoos Credit Union has also partnered with the All Hallows Festival this year to bring witchy performers to Pedestrian Square and to host a community witches dance! And don’t forget to stop in at Osoyoos Credit Union to enter the costume contest!
